Performing the Future: Institutions and Politics of Memory

This collection of papers, born out of the 33rd SIBMAS conference at the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw 2022, explores the intersection of institutions, memory, and the performing arts and how politics of memory shape the preservation of performing arts heritage. Experts from around the world discuss the central role collections and cultural programming play in shaping collective memory.

Since 1954, SIBMAS has been the international network supporting the preservation of performing arts heritage. With members in 35 countries, SIBMAS unites individuals and institutions working to safeguard traditions in circus, dance, opera, theatre, and puppetry.

Cette collection darticles, ne de la 33e confrence de la SIBMAS a l'Institut du thtre Zbigniew Raszewski a Varsovie en 2022, explore le point de rencontre entre les institutions, la mmoire et les arts du spectacle, et la maniere dont les politiques mmorielles faonnent la sauvegarde de ce patrimoine artistique. Des experts du monde entier analysent le rle central que jouent les collections et les programmes culturels dans la formation de la mmoire collective.
